On Friday, May 25th at approximately 9:16 pm, Dudley Fire Department Personnel as well as Police Sergeant Paul Ceppetelli and Officers Marek Karlowicz, Philip Megas, and Paige Moroz were dispatched to West Main Street (Route 197). in the area of The Dudley District Court, for a one car motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, they observed a small tree laying across the road and a Silver Cadillac in the wooded area off the westbound lane of travel. There was a male operator, and sole occupant, later identified as Aleksander Wasilewski age 25 of Dudley, Ma., He was bleeding from some visible injuries. Dudley EMS personnel administered aid to Wasilewski and he was later transported to Harrington Hospital at Hubbard for treatment.
It appeared this vehicle was traveling eastbound on West Main Street at a high rate of speed. It struck the curbing and crossed over the westbound lane before crashing in the woods. Alcohol may also have been a contributing factor in this incident.
There were no other injuries and Mr. Wasilewski will be summoned to appear at Dudley District Court at a later date on a number of offenses.
