Mission Statement

We, the men and women of the Dudley Police Department, are dedicated to providing excellent service through partnerships that build trust, reduce crime, create a safe environment, and enhance the quality of life in our community.

We are committed to these principles:

INTEGRITY: We have integrity. We adhere to the highest moral and ethical standards. We are honest and sincere in dealing with each other and the community. We have the courage to uphold these principles and are proud that they guide us in all we do.

RESPECT: We show respect. We recognize the value of our unique cultural diversity and treat all people with kindness, tolerance, and dignity. We cherish and protect the rights, liberties, and freedoms of all as granted by the constitution and laws of the United States and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

FAIRNESS: We act with fairness. Objective, impartial decisions and policies are the foundation of our interactions. We are consistent on our treatment of all persons. Our actions are tempered with reason and equity.

SERVICE: We provide service. We provide quality service in a courteous, efficient and accessible manner. We foster community and employee involvement through problem-solving partnerships. We investigate crime, apprehend criminals and recover stolen property in a way to best serve the community.

Our Community

The Dudley Police Department is located in the rural Town of Dudley, situated in south central Massachusetts, about 22 miles south of Worcester, Massachusetts and bordering Connecticut. The bordering towns include Charlton, Oxford, Southbridge, Webster, and Thompson, CT. With a population of approximately 10,800 people, Dudley consists of a total land area of 22.06 square miles and is the home of Nichols College and the Dudley Charlton Regional High School (Shepherd Hill). Department Profile

In addition to the Chief of Police, the Dudley Police Department consists of three Sergeants, nine full time Police Officers, nine Reserve Police Officers and four full time Dispatchers. The department fleet consists of four marked cruisers, two SUV's, and two unmarked cruisers. The Dudley Police Department is a non-civil service department.
