Kids Safety Programs
One of the issues that the Dudley Police Department places an extremely
high priority on is that of child safety. This includes maintaining
a safe environment for them to play and/or socialize while making sure that they are well
informed of personal and public safety issues, and by providing various
resources for them to protect their person and property. Below you
will find various programs that are either initiated through the Dudley
Police Department or are provided by outside organizations with the full
cooperation and support of the Dudley Police Department.

Bicycle Registrations.
Nothing is more devastating to a child than to have their bike stolen.
Over the years we have located numerous bicycles than cannot be traced
back to the original owner. We have developed a registration
program which will give each child's bike a unique tamperproof
identification number. This will provide us a means of quickly
locating the owner of a lost or stolen bike and hopefully reduce the
number of bicycle thefts that occur each year.

Bicycle Rodeos.
This is a program which has been held on an annual basis providing
children the opportunity to learn the rules of the road concerning
bicycles as well as various road and riding safety tips. This
program is initiated by public interest and will be scheduled once a
quorum is reached (usually 10 or more kids). If you would like to
participate, please contact the Dudley Police Department for further
details.
