All of our full time Police Officers have had basic training on crime scene investigations through the Police Academy held by the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Council.

However, as crimes are becoming more sophisticated, crime scene investigations have become more complex and require specialized training. The Dudley Police Department have specific Officers' that specialize on various types of crime investigations.

They have been trained specifically in the proper identification, and preservation of different types of evidence. These Officers have specialized training on the proper methodology in such areas as collection of information pertaining to computer crime investigations, finding and lifting fingerprints, casting tire and shoe prints for identification, photographic techniques, and how to use alternate light sources such as UV light for finding trace evidence such as fibers and hair.

The Dudley Police Department are continuously training to enhance their abilities and to stay current with new technologies in these areas.
