Press Release September 11, 2008
The Dudley Police Department wishes to remind everyone that National Child Passenger Safety Week is from September 20th through September 27th, 2008. All around Worcester County there will be check point areas where parents can bring in their children’s car seats and have them installed and examined by a certified child safety seat technician.
On Saturday September 20th, there will be a check point at the Dudley Police Department at 71 West Main Street in Dudley. It begins at 10:00am and ends at 2:00pm. Several technicians will be on hand to assist in this very important endeavor. In addition, a number of child booster seats will be distributed to people who are may need one of these items. For further information or directions please contact Sgt. Pamela A. Daniels at the department at 508-943-4411.
Remember that young people are at a high risk for serious injuries while traveling in vehicles. AAA informs us that each year approximately 500 passengers under the age of five are killed and more than 50,000 are injured as a result of vehicle collisions and sudden stops. Please take advantage of the opportunity to stop by the Dudley Police Department or any other check point location to have your child safety seat inspected.
