Dudley Police Department Press Release October 22, 2008
On Wednesday October 22, 2008, at approximately 2pm, Dudley Police Officers James Annese and Gregory Daniels responded to a home at 4 Old Southbridge Road to investigate possible stolen property. They were called to that residence by loss prevention officials from Rite Aid Drug Stores. Upon arrival, the officers discovered numerous store related items at the scene which had been unlawfully removed from a delivery truck. The driver of the truck, who is a resident of 4 Old Southbridge Road, was identified as Christopher Kelly Jones age 38. Investigation revealed Mr. Jones had been engaged in a series of thefts of store products for approximately 6 months. Over this time, the truck would stop at the residence periodically during work time and items would be taken from the truck and kept at the residence. The officers and loss prevention officials identified over 200 different items at the home which included food, candy, candles, furniture, health and beauty products, paper products, batteries, medications, electronics equipment, and more. The total of the property recovered was estimated at over $2,000. Mr. Jones was arrested on charges of larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property over $250. He was scheduled to be arraigned at Dudley District Court on Wednesday 10/22/08. His wife, Christina Jones age 39, is also facing charges of receiving stolen property over $250. She will be summoned into court at a later time. Both individuals worked for Rite Aid stores.
