            On Friday November 6, 2009 at approximately 9:45am, Dudley Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Oxford Avenue at the intersection of Cemetery Road.  Two vehicles were involved, a 1993 Mazda Protégé and a 2000 Toyota Camry.  Both vehicles suffered heavy damage.  There were a total of five people involved in the accident, three people in the Mazda and two in the Camry.  All suffered serious injuries and they were transported by ambulance to UMass Hospital in Worcester.  Names are not being released at this time, but will be given later when their conditions are better known.  The cause of the accident as well as further details will also be made available as soon as possible.  Assistance was provided by the Dudley Fire Department and EMS, as well as Webster EMS and Police, and the Oxford Police and Fire Departments.  The accident is under investigation by members of the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Accident Reconstruction Team as well as Dudley Police Officers James Annese and Gregory Daniels.

 

            The Dudley Police are confirming a 68 year old female died on Friday November 6th as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.  The woman has been identified as Ethel Tornberg of 23 Wheelock Street in Oxford.  She was a front seat passenger in the 1993 Mazda Protégé, which at the time of the accident, was traveling from Cemetery Road onto Oxford Avenue southbound and being driven by her husband Richard Tornberg, age 74.   The rear seat passenger in this vehicle, is identified as Patricia Foley, age 68 of Westgate Street in Oxford.  Their conditions are not currently available, however they remain hospitalized. 

The second vehicle, the 2000 Toyota Camry, was traveling north on Oxford Ave. at the time of the accident.  It was driven by 78 year old Toussaint Testa of Second Ave. Dudley.   His 72 year old wife Lucy Testa was a front seat passenger.  Mr. Testa has been released from the hospital and Lucy’s is currently hospitalized and her condition is unknown.  No charges have been filed as of this time and the case remains under investigation.  It is being reviewed by members of District Attorney Joseph Early’s Office.
