Press Release
On Thursday July 6, 2006 at approximately 10:54pm, Dudley Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Southbridge Road (Route 131). The vehicle involved, a 1993 Ford Explorer, had left the roadway and struck a tree. It suffered heavy damage. The operator, a white male and sole occupant of the vehicle, was unconscious. Assistance was provided by the Dudley Fire Department and EMS, as well as the Southbridge Police, and members of the Massachusetts State Police. The driver was transported by Dudley Ambulance to Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. He was later pronounced dead. The drivers name is being withheld at this time pending notification of the family. The accident is under investigation by members of the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team as well as Dudley Police Officer Marek Karlowicz.
